Prosocial & Proactive

Getting youth involved in structured activites with positive peers and supportive adults is an effective way to manage risk-related behaviors. This also offers youth an opportunity to identify and grow areas of personal strength, another important factor in managing risk and positive individual development.

If financial barriers exist, reach out to your local park district, township, religious institution, club, community organization, or others to explore options. Assistance may be available in the form of scholarships, sliding fee scales, or other creative avenues to support youth engagement in positive activities.
